Food Hygiene Matters was established in 1989 by John Downer, an experienced environmental health officer. John retired from the business in December 2004.

Tracy Pitkin

MRSPH joined Food Hygiene Matters in 1997 bringing into the organisation her specialisms as a trainer and as an auditor with a wide experience of the food industry. She has worked for major food retailers, which has brought to the Company an invaluable aspect of food control. She has recently worked with Southend Borough Council coaching Safer Food Better Business to a variety of local food establishments. Tracy progressed Food Hygiene Matters on to become a Limited Company in January 2007. Tracy is a fully qualified HACCP expert.

Sally Howard

MRSPH joined Food Hygiene Matters in the summer of 2000 bringing with her administrative skills to manage our office. She qualified as a trainer in 2001 and has since regularly presented the Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering.

Bridget Newlove

MRSPH joined Food Hygiene Matters in March 2006 with over 15 years experience in retail, public and corporate sectors. Previously she worked as a group training and health and safety manager for the Compass group and has also been responsible for the catering team providing food for South East Essex College. Her blend of experience has established her role as a trainer and consultant for Food Food Hygiene Matters. Bridget has additional qualifications in nutrition.
